CHRISTMAS 2010

Wow so I am way behind in blogging but I am trying to get caught up for this year. So we had an amazing Christmas and have to thanks all the grandparents and aunts and uncles that helped us have an amazing Christmas this year. Our two precious kids were definitely spoiled by everyone, but we are glad that they had a wonderful Christmas. I was pretty excited this year because for the past two years Logan hasnt really been that interested in opening presents, but this year although he didnt really understand the whole concept of Christmas, he sure enjoyed opening presents and we sure enjoyed watching him open his presents. Ashlee pretty much slept the entire day, but who can blame her, only being 13 days old. It was sure a wonderful Christmas just to have her here. It was an awesome Christmas present for all of us. Matthew and I are sure lucky to have been blessed with such wonderful children. We too had a wonderful Christmas. It was sure nice to be together and enjoy the day with family.

Yep, I am pretty excited. I have been wanting an exercise step for years now, so I asked for it again this year and I finally got it. Now hopefully I can lose all my baby weight and even a few of the pounds left over from having Logan. I am sure going to try :)!
We also got to have a second Christmas on Sunday at Flint and Lisas with all of Matthews brothers and sisters. It was a fun day once again with good food, games and more presents.

It sure was a wonderful Christmas for all of us at this Jacobson house. We sure have enjoyed welcoming our little angel, Ashlee, into our family, and we always enjoy our sweet little boy, Logan. 2010 has been a year of great blessings and trials. We have enjoyed all the time we have gotten to spend as a family and with our families. We have grown stronger as a family and we definitely have created a HOME full of LOVE. We have enjoyed 2010 and we cant wait to see what is in store for us in 2011.

Thanks again to all our family and friends for making this a year to remember. We love you all and wish you all a Happy New Year!!!!

12-12-10

What a great day this was!

Well I guess I will start from the beginning so that I can remember all that happened later on. Well things started on 12-11, I was a little down because I was ready to have Ashlee and I was hoping to have her early and not go to my due date or later so that I would have to have the c-section that we had scheduled for the 16th. So that morning I had decided that I was going to clean the car, put the car seat in and get my hospital bag ready and put it in the car. More for wishful thinking than for anything else. So I went about my day as usual just getting things in order and marking things off my to-do list. However I was noticing that my contractions were a little stronger than normal and about 10-11 that morning I seemed to be having some a few minutes apart, but then they calmed down and everything went back to normal. So I got everything done on my list and we got a call that my car was finally fixed and we could go pick it up. So we decided that since we were going to town to meet everyone in Twin to eat for Flints birthday that we would go in early and get my car and then go meet everyone. We had about a half hour before everyone was meeting so we decided to stop by and see my mom. While we were there I started having contractions that were pretty intense and were coming about every 2-3 minutes and this kept going for about 30-40 minutes, so my mom told us that we needed to get to the hospital, and those who know my mom know that we were headed to the hospital regardless (but I have to say she was right). So we left Logan with her and Matt and I headed to the hospital. Which I was still a little hesitant about because I didn't want to be only dilated to a 3 and have to just go home and wait it out. But we went anyway because my contractions never let up being 2-3 minutes apart. So we got there and checked in and of course I was only dilated to a 3 but I was 75% effaced. So they had me walk the hall trying to get me to dilate more. So Matt and I walked from about 6:30-7:45 and then they hooked me back up to the machines and checked and I was still a three but was 80% effaced. So they gave me the option to stay and they would give me some morphine to help me relax and maybe dilate or I could go home and wait it out. But Matt and I looked at each other and thought well my contractions haven't stopped coming at 2-3 minutes apart, so how do we know when to come back, when the baby's head was sticking out. So we decided to stay and try the morphine. I had to stay for 2 hours and just rest and they would check me again after those 2 hours. So I slept feeling pretty tired, while Matt and my mom waited it out. So they came back in and checked me about 12:00 and I was dilated to a 5 so they kept me there and called the doctor. He came in and broke my water and then the contractions really started hitting pretty hard. I wanted an epidural but the anesthesiologist didn't get up there until I was dilated to an 8 so I experience more pain and contractions than I wanted to. But I did get an intrathecial, which was wonderful!!! The only thing was that I only had 2 hours to get the baby out before it wore off. I am not sure what time all this happened but I do know that I was dilated and totally thinned out by 2:00AM and our precious little Ashlee was here by 2:19AM.

I definitely have to say that child birth was different than I thought or pictured and contractions and the amount of pain was different than I had expected. I commend all those who go through it without any type of pain management, you are definitely tough women. I however recommend to everyone I talk to or will talk to, to do something, I don't see why not if it is there, I don't see why you would want to go through the pain if you don't have to. But that is just my opinion. I am just glad that Ashlee is here and that both of us are doing well. I had a couple of humbling experiences that make me truly count my blessings and realize that she came when she was ready and that I really need to work on my patience. I have a cousin who's wife delivered her baby the same day as I did, but she was only 26 weeks along. The baby was only 1lb 9oz. I couldn't even imagine having to go through that. Also while we were at the hospital we learned that the couple across the hall from us had lost their baby. So I should never have complained about carrying Ashlee full term and I should be grateful that after all I went through that she is here and healthy. I am very grateful to have two wonderful and healthy kids. It truly is a blessing and I am grateful for them everyday :)!!!

Pics are in random order.

Trying to Escape

This is what I found the other day. I will let the pics tell the story.

He grab daddys keys and blew us kisses and waved bye bye, put on my slippers, and proceeded to unlock the door.

He got it open and had to wave one more time before he left.

Decided that it was too cold to go outside so he came back. Whew.. I dont think I am ready for him to leave just quite yet.
One of these days I will get a video of him blowing kisses and waving bye. It is just too stinkin cute. Wow  he is sure growing up fast. Everyday is definitely a new adventure and I am glad that I have the oportunity to stay home and enjoy every minute with him. What a bundle of joy he really is. I just LOVE my little boy!

Christmas Decorations

They are finally up. Actually we put them up on Sunday, because church was cancelled. It is always so exciting to put up the tree and all the decorations. Christmas is just an exciting time of year, we are excited for this year because Logan is actually getting into it. He is fun to watch as he notices the tree and all the decorations.

Matthew picked yet another fabulous tree for us this year. He wasn't too excited because it was cold when they went to get trees this year. He said he had quite a hike to get this one. He did good and we love our tree. There is nothing better than a real Christmas tree.
He was fascinated by the lights, but tried to escape the picture.

Our Beautiful Christmas Tree 2010

I know that all the decorations are pretty much in the same places as last year, but you have to capture the fun of the season.

The fireplace awaiting the arrival of a new stocking, then they all will be hung.

The only place to put all my snowmen and other decorations.

Our little tree and Guardian Angel

Got to have a Nativity Scene

Santa and snowmen.
Now we are just waiting on the presents. We are hoping that we have been good this year so that Santa will bring us a few gifts. But mostly we are awaiting the arrival of the best Christmas present, our little girl. It sure is going to be fun to have two kids to spoil this Christmas. It is already an amazing Christmas Season here at the Jacobson's.

Helping Grandpa

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we went in to see my dad and Cyndi because they came up from Utah. My dad had a few projects that he did for my grandparents and Logan wanted to help him. This is one of the chores they got done, smashing pop cans out in the garage. It was fun to watch because Logan knew what he was doing. :)! He is such a big helper and loves to do what others are doing.

I know the video is dark but, Logan would put the cans in and my dad would smash them and then he would pull the can out. Logan sure had fun helping do all the little projects that my dad had to do.

And of course it was good to see and visit with both dad and Cyndi.

Thanksgiving 2010!

So this year we all got together at Flint and Lisas house for Thanksgiving. It is always fun getting together with everyone. We always have great food and its fun to play games and talk with everyone.

So these are fun and edible place cards that Lisa made for all the guys. I heard they were yummy
cookie brim with a chocolate covered marshmallow. :)!

For all the girls we got orange slice pumpkins :)! And I know these were yummy!
Jace, Carson and Logan all waiting to start eating.  All the grandkids got oreo turkeys for their place cards. And I think they all ate theirs first thing :)!

One cute little boy!

I was feeding Logan some pie and then trying to get him to look at the camera for a pic (hence why I look fantastic, maybe one of these times I will worry about what I look like for the picture instead of everyone else)
So it was a fantastic feast had by all, so it was time to work off all the turkey, potatoes, rolls, salads and desserts that got eaten. Most everyone got into the Kinect this year. Brandon and Maricela got it and brought it out for everyone to try. So here are a few pics of everyone with the Kinect.

Matthew and Brandon taking their turn playing volleyball. I think Matthew is serving.

Brandon is hitting and Matthew awaiting the return.
I think everyone played this all afternoon. They seemed to have had fun. Yes I had to watch, seeing as how I am 38 weeks pregnant. Maybe I will try it in January. I am just glad that when we get together everyone has fun. It was a fun and relaxing day.

All the grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa :)!

Happy Thanksgiving 2010
