Russell M. Nelson

So on the 23rd of January the Filer Stake had a special stake conference where we had the privilege of getting to hear from Russell M. Nelson of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles. It was a pretty cool experience because I have never been in an actual meeting where an Apostle has spoken. I listen to them every General Conference, but he was actually in our stake building. It was a great meeting. All the talks were good and it was great to hear from Elder Nelson outside of General Conference. The talks were on missionary work and strengthening the family, teaching your children. I realized a few things that I/we as a family need to work on. So we have already changed a few things since then. We finally did our first Family Home Evening with Logan the other day and he loved it. He sat there and listened. Now I just have to create a lot more little lesson and activities for this year. I hope that I can be creative. Anyway we waited around after the meeting and Matthew and I took Logan and Ashlee up and we all got to shake his hand. I didn't really know what to say to him so we just shook his hand and said hi and moved on. It was just all a really cool experience. One in which I hope to participate in again before I die. But in my 26 years of being a live this is the first time that I have actually been close to an Apostle. WAY COOL.

The Tuesday before the Stake Conference we had a Relief Society activity where we learned a little about him and got to eat yummy soups in bread bowls and tied a quilt. It was great to learn about Elder Nelson. He is a pretty amazing man. He has done more in the medical world to help people that anyone I know of. He is a very bright individual. I loved to hear some of his stories at Stake Conference. They say that they are just ordinary people, but he sure seemed a little extra-ordinary to me.

Cute Little Black Dress

Ashlee in her cute little Black Dress.

And of course we have to have a picture with big brother. Love these two!!!

Hoping for Warmer Days

I sure have a little boy who is hoping for some warmer days soon. OR maybe he just wants a mom that can brave a little cold weather. He wants to go outside just about everyday and I wont let him because it has been a little chilly lately and not to mention all the mud around our house. He still however escapes outside sometimes with just his shirt, shoes and diaper. He sure doesn't mind the cold and could stay outside forever. So the other day I got him dressed and let him play outside for a while. He LOVED it. We are all hoping for spring to get here soon. :)!

He has been wanting a hat on every time he goes outside. So Matt put my hat on him. Isn't he cute?!

Today Is The Day

Well my little boy is growing up. We decided that today is the day that we start potting training. I am not sure I am ready for this, but I will be, because it has officially started. I am tired of changing two kids poopy diapers and it is time for Logan to start going on the potty. So yesterday I picked up his little undies and we put them on first thing this morning. He was pretty excited and after he got them on he started running around the house. He was a free man without his diaper. So keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well and I hope that I have enough patience to get through this.

He was so excited that he played with them for a while, telling me who was on them.

I thought they we tiny and cute so I had to put a picture of a few of them on here :)

Helping Mommy Bake

So the other day I had to make cupcakes for mutual and Logan wanted to help. He was excited as he watched me mix everything, but as he saw the raw ingredients go in he would look in the bowl and say "yucky". He was definitely the biggest help at cleaning up :)!!!

He wasnt sure about this and he wouldnt look at the camera.

He figured it out and loved it!
