Memorial Day

So we were able to head to Swan Valley this year for Memorial Day. The Jacobson's always have a get together with food and games. It is always fun to go to. We definitely don't see everyone very much and it crazy how much everyone changes. I didn't have my camera out to get pictures of the fun games and all the people. But we had fun and it was good to see everyone even if we didn't really get to talk to everyone.

We had to stop and get square ice cream on the way home. Logan wanted yellow ice cream and rainbow sherbet was the closest we could get, but he did great with it and he really enjoyed it . Ashlee didn't do so well with it and she had it all over the place.

Matthew and I even enjoyed a cone :)!

This is why it was such a mess. She ate it upside down and it melted all over the place before she got it eaten, so out the window it went and she cried for a little bit and then fell asleep

25 Years

Today was kind of a bitter sweet day! I was able to take the kids and meet up with my mom and we visited the grave of my little sister. Her birthday was Monday the 21st and she would have turned 25! I just cant believe its been 25 years since she passed away. We go clean her head stone and leave her some flowers.

Kelli Brianne Peterson

Their First Time Visiting the Cemetery, with Grandma!

I was talking to my mom on Monday and she said that she was kind of down because it was Kelli's 25th Birthday, and it hit me as to the emotions that she must have. Kelli died when I was 3 yrs old and I don't have too many memories of her. I mean through the years as we have visited her grave, I have often thought about what kind of personality she would have had, what her interests would have been, and things to that effect. Now that I am a mother, I have somewhat of a glimpse of the pain and sorrow that my mom has had to go through with losing her daughter. I mean I haven't lost a child, but I know the love a mother has for a child and I just don't know what I would do if I lost one of my children. It sure would be a very hard thing to  overcome. So it was kind of a bittersweet day for me.

Of course we had to stop by and see the duck and geese that are at the cemetery.

They had a good time seeing the ducks and geese.

We all sure had a wonderful day! I love all the time I get to spend with my mom and I am grateful that she is such a huge part of my kids life. I love her very much and am grateful for all that she has done for me and for all she does for my family :)!

Playdate

So today we were able to have Colton and Josie come play at our house while their mom went and got to be apart of her other kids end of school activities.

Josie is the only other kid in Logan's sunbeam class and so they were together in nursery as well. So they have created quite the friendship. Josie asked me today if I knew who she was dating  and I asked her if she was too young to date and she told me "NO, I am dating Logan!" So I asked Logan if he was Josie's boyfriend and he told me No! Just like a guy not to know when he has a good thing going for him :)! Totally just kidding, sure made me laugh!

We had a little dance party in the kitchen, they were spinning on the floor!

All taking drinks of their chocolate milk.

Finger Painting!

Duff and Bernadette are raising chickens and we have to go see them EVERYDAY!

All the kiddos enjoying the chickens

The three amigos sure had a fun day and it was nice to have someone other than mom to play with :)!

I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ

I just have to say that I really enjoyed General Conference back in April. I actually got to listen to most of it and I really enjoyed listening. I do however have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the talks in the Ensign this month. I just cant get enough. I have to say that it is probably one of the best conferences that I can remember. I have loved every talk so far that I have read, and am grateful that they put them into the Ensign so that we can study them. Its great to know that we have a loving Heavenly Father that has given us prophets and apostles that truly love each of us and want to help us know how we need to be living so that we can return to live with Him. I love hearing messages of love, service, sacrifice, families, trials, faith, repentance, etc. I just feel like I have related to every talk. There is always something to work on, something that needs refined, polished, started, endured, changed. That is what life is all about, learning and growing to become what our Heavenly Father created us to become.

I am grateful to be a member of His church. I do have a testimony that God Lives and Loves and Knows each one of us. I know that I am far from perfect and I am grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ that allows me the opportunity to overcome my weaknesses, shortcomings, sorrows, wrongdoings, and that will allow me to become a better wife, mother, sister, friend, daughter, and overall person. I know that we have a living prophet Thomas S. Monson who leads and guides us today. I am grateful to all those who came before us that have sacrificed so much for the building of the kingdom of God. What great examples of faith and enduring to the end they are for me. I know that through ordinances performed in the Temple that families can be together for time and all eternity. What a wonderful knowledge to have! The gospel is such an important force in my life and am grateful to have an ever growing testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ.

Weekend Fun!

So time keeps going so fast that my weeks keep running into each other. I cant believe its been a week since I last made a post. And to be honest I am not sure whats happened since I last posted but here is what I did capture on camera this past week:

So this is my Mothers Day present. I have loved it and I am proud to say that I rode 3 days last week, pulling the kids behind me. Finally an easy way for me to exercise with both kids. They love it and I can already tell that this type of exercise is totally going to help get my butt in shape :)!

My beautiful little model showing how much she loves it. I just moved it so that I could get a picture and she had to get in it :)!

The rest of the week was a blur, I am still trying to figure out what happened. I am sure we went into my grandparents and helped them, I had a presidency meeting Tuesday morning, I mowed my lawn, I am sure I cleaned house, and then it was the weekend again.

I was a little bummed that we weren't able to go watch Dylan run at state, but we sure got a lot accomplished around the house.

The cat that hangs around our house (I don't feel right calling it our cat, because we don't really feed it or  take care of it, it just sticks around) had baby kittens in a hole in one of the trees in our yard. Strange place to have kittens I think, but I guess it is as safe as any other place. Logan has been dying to see the kittens so Matthew got them out of the tree for him and both him and Ashlee had a ball playing with them.

Hes going to be an animal kid for sure. He asks to see the kittens 1000 times a day.

Then after playing with the kittens and eating a big yummy breakfast we went to town to get a few things so that we could get our garden planted.

We had to get a few more strawberries to fill in a few holes where a couple plants had died. I am glad to say that we have even been able to eat a few very yummy strawberries already :)!

We weeded around the raspberries, which are doing very well .
(you cant really tell from the picture)

We planted 6 hills of pumpkins, so we hope no one will go buy pumpkins this year. We thought that we could grow them and maybe do a fun Jacobson pumpkin carving party :)!

Our garden almost all planted.
We have planted a few new things in our garden this year.

We have carrots, radishes, lettuce, spinach, swiss chard, cabbage, peas, potatoes, onions, a jalapeno pepper, a banana pepper, green peppers, beans, cucumbers, cantelope, watermelon and corn. Tomatoes will be planted today. Then I will update our garden picture. It was a very successful day. We were all pretty excited about getting it in. Logan even loved helping plant the watermelon and cantelope. He asks everyday if the watermelon are ready. Kids sure make everything exciting. I just love to see the excitement in their eyes and hear it in their voices.

Since we worked so hard Daddy grilled us some hot dogs and we had a little picnic in the back yard.

My three favorite people!
Just some cute pictures of our two little monkeys, having fun outside!

Dylan did great at State Track. 4th in the 2 mile and 3rd in the 1 mile. We are so proud of him, WAY TO GO D!

Crazy Days

So the past week and a half, I am not sure how much down time I have really gotten to enjoy. It feels like  I am just going and going.

Monday (April 30th)- I went into Twin and mowed my Grandma and Grandpa Peterson's lawn. It took we  going over the lawn twice to get it looking nice. It had grown and it had been raining for several days before I could get back over to mow it. I guess I just have to make time so that I don't have to spend that much time mowing lawn :(!

Tuesday (May 1)- I had a Presidency Meeting which took up my morning, which was okay, because I felt good about what we had accomplished. Then I just came home and did a little cleaning, just to try and catch up.

Wednesday (May 2)- I went into Buhl to help a Angie (a lady in our ward) with some computer stuff. Logan and Ashlee got to play with her little boy McCoy and then it was home to once again do stuff around the house and play with the kids.

Thursday (May 3)- I went over to the Garners and helped Shauna make a few blankets. The kids swam in the Jacuzzi. Shauna and I made a few more bracelets, talked, ate yummy food. I planted their peas for them and then Matt came over and we got to eat dinner with them and we watched We Bought a Zoo. So I ended up staying there all day, which is never a bad thing. I (We) had fun!

Friday (May 4)- I told my mom to not do anything and that me and the kids would come hang out with her. We hadn't really spent the day with her in a while, so we got up and got ready and rode into Twin with Matthew. He dropped us off at my moms and we got to hang out with her until Matt got done with work. We hit a few yard sales, which I will have to post about later, because we got some fun stuff. Then we did a little shopping and then we went back to play with the new water table mom got for the kiddos. Then we ate lunch and played outside and waited for Matthew to come get us.

Having fun with the water table!

This is a pretty neat little play set that the neighbors have that they let Logan and Ashlee come play on. Logan loves it and says he wants to go play on the green slide!

Being a good brother and waiting so that he can push Ashlee down the slide :)!

Two Cute Kids with Nacho Cheese Faces!

This was my main purchase when we went shopping. It was on sale and we go through it pretty quick. it will be interesting to see how long this lasts. Now we have some in our food storage, so if things get tough, Logan and Matthew wont die, because I am pretty sure Chocolate Milk is what they both live on :)!
Then after hanging out with my mom, we headed back to Buhl to watch Dylan run at his last track meet before Districts and State. It was a very cold and windy meet. It was fun to watch Dylan run. It kind of made me miss track. I think I should look into coaching a few sports, I think I would really enjoy it.

Saturday (May 5) - We had Stake Baptisms, so I got up and made a program for it and then had to go to the church to make copies. I then had to head to my 1st Counselors House to pick up the little gift that we give to the kids getting baptized. Then I headed to the Stake Center for the Baptism. It was a great Baptism, I just love seeing the smiles on the kids faces when the come back out of the dressing room, after getting baptized. Then I had to get home because Matthew had to go to a Priesthood Meeting before the Adult Session of Stake Conference that night. So Matt was at the Stake Center from 4:00pm -6:00pm for the priesthood session and so he just stayed there for the adult session which started at 7:00pm and went until 9:00 pm. So he was so ready to leave when Conference was over.

Sunday (May 6) - Was of Course Stake Conference. Matthew was up and out to work. Then I got up and started to get the kids and myself ready. We all got ready and headed to the Stake Center. I didn't really  even hear a single talk given, because I was in and out for pretty much all of it (I thought to myself I should have just stayed home with the kids). Then it was home to get lunch ready because my dad, Michelle, Val, and Richard were coming out to eat. We had a good lunch and then walked around the Dairy with the kids to enjoy the nice weather.
All ready for Church

Look at that Hair :)!
So it was a fun afternoon. Michelle, Val and Richard left early because they had to get back home and dad stayed and played a game of 5 Crowns with us. So it was great having them all out to enjoy the sunny Sunday afternoon with us!

Monday (May 7)- I headed into Twin to make a big grocery run. I went to Costco and loaded up and then I went to WinCo to grab a few things. I loaded up the entire trunk of the car with groceries. It was nice seeing that we were finally going to have food, but I sure hated paying for all that food :(! Then we stopped by to see my mom for a few minutes. Then it was off to my Grandparents (G&G Peterson) to see my dad and help do stuff for my grandparents. I was able to mow the lawn and trim their fruit trees, while the kids played. Then I had to get my groceries home.

Tuesday (May 8th)-  The kids and I once again got up and got ready and rode in with Matt so that we could go see my dad and grandparents. I corrugated their pasture and cleaned their house. The kids had a blast getting to spend time and play with Grandpa Brad, before he had to head home to Utah. Then after Matt got done working, he came and got us and we headed home. I was able to mow my lawn, and do some serious weed control. I watered the raspberries, strawberries and the garden. It was a great day and I just love when the yard looks nice and you can just sit in the shade and enjoy an ice cream with the two best little helpers in the world. What a day!

Today (May 9)- I was able to finally start and finish a few projects, that I have been wanting to get done.

This is a project that I have been wanting to get done for a few years now. I finally gave it a fresh coat of paint and now it is looking pretty good. We finally get to enjoy eating dinners outside!

This used to be a plain brown shelf and it went in our  office which is black and white. So it need a little change. So I gave it a coat of black paint. It really looks like a different shelf.

I wanted to do something besides paint it all black so it painted the two little shelves white.

Doesn't it look great! Sure change the look of the room too!

My little helper got a hold of the camera.

This is my new project. I am going to prep this area and then figure out a cheap  patio to create.  I and determined to do something cheap and easy to that we have a fun place to put our updated table and chairs.
What a crazy bunch of days! I got a lot accomplished but now I am ready to just sit back and rest! I am not sure when that is going to happen but I might just have to take advantage of the fact that Matt and Logan have a Father and Son outing this weekend and Ashlee and I might just have to relax and have a fun girls night :)!
